Nweke and Udedibia, popularly known as the Synco Brothers, have supported infrastructural development at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, through the donation of six shuttle buses, construction of a 208-room students’ hostel and renovation of an administrative building at the university’s Ifite-Ogwari Campus.

The six shuttle buses were donated to address transportation challenges faced by students on the campus and improve mobility within the university community.

The vehicles were officially unveiled and received on behalf of the university by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Barrister Monsur Olugbenga Kukoyi, who performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Speaking at the event, Kukoyi expressed appreciation to the benefactors for their contributions, particularly their interventions in addressing students’ transportation and accommodation needs.

In addition to the transportation support, the Synco Brothers constructed a 208-room students’ hostel and subsequently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the university for the management of the facility, which now provides accommodation for students.

Their intervention also extended to the renovation of an administrative building at the Ifite-Ogwari Campus, involving repairs to connecting roof sections and cracked walls.

The unveiling ceremony was attended by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Alex Chinwuba Asigbo; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Hilda Osisioma; Registrar, Dr Chinenye Gloria Okeke; and University Librarian, Professor Eze Jacintha Ukamaka, among other university officials.

The benefactors also pledged to undertake additional developmental projects at the Ifite-Ogwari Campus, expressing their willingness to expand their contributions if the university management gives greater priority to the campus’s development.

The projects are expected to contribute to improved student transportation, expanded accommodation capacity and better administrative infrastructure at the university’s Ifite-Ogwari Campus.
