Kunle Oluomo, in a significant and recent development, has been impeached as the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly.
According to Channels TV, 18 out of the 36 Assembly members voted for Oluomo’s impeachment during Tuesday’s plenary session.
The grounds for Oluomo’s impeachment include alleged embezzlement of funds, highhandedness, and related offenses.
In the aftermath of the decision, the Assembly promptly elected Oludaisi Elemide as the new Speaker, marking a pivotal shift in leadership.
