Maverick artiste, Charles Oputa, better known as Charly Boy, has shared his thoughts on the Super Eagles’ 2-1 loss to Ivory Coast in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
In his reaction posted on X, Charly Boy acknowledged Nigeria’s effort but concedes that Ivory Coast emerged victorious as the better team.
“The Super Eagles really tried but the best team won,” Charly Boy expressed.
Encouraging a resilient attitude, he urges Nigerians to confront the challenges ahead, symbolically referring to them as “demons.”
He said, “Oya, make we face the demons facing us.”
Recalling the match, Nigeria initially took the lead with William Troost-Ekong’s header in the first half.
However, Ivory Coast equalized through Franck Kessie’s header after halftime.
The host ultimately clinched victory with Sebastien Haller’s late goal.
