In the aftermath of Nigeria’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting, Central Bank Governor, Dr. Olayemi Cardoso, asserted that the CBN cannot be held accountable for the nation’s economic challenges.
Addressing inquiries from LEADERSHIP, Cardoso emphasized that while inflation hovers around 30%, with food inflation nearing 40%, and the Naira facing volatility against the dollar, the CBN remains committed to steering the economy toward stability.
Cardoso stated unequivocally, “We are not the architects of today’s woes. Instead, we are dedicated to being part of the solution, determined to navigate the country through this challenging period. Our focus is on implementing necessary measures to improve the current situation.”
