President Bola Tinubu is currently meeting with Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and members of the 1999 class of governors at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The President himself, a former two-term governor of Lagos state, is a member of the group, having been a governor between 1999-2007.

They were the first set of state chief executives upon the nation’s return to democratic rule after a 16-year of military interruption.

Aside from Senator Kalu, the former governor of Abia state, those in the meeting are James Ibori (Delta), Donald Duke (Cross River), Niyi Adebayo (Ekiti), Lucky Igbinedion (Edo), and Sam Egwu (Ebonyi).

Others are Chimaroke Nnamani (Enugu), Ibrahim Saminu Turaki ( Jigawa), Adamu Muazu (Bauchi), Obong Victor Attah (Akwa Ibom), Olusegun Osoba (Ogun), Bisi Akande (Osun), Ahmad Yerima (Zamfara), Jolly Nyame (Taraba), Attahiru Bafarawav(Sokoto) and Joshua Dariye (Plateau).
