As the fight for political supremacy in Kano state rages, the State’s Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged its members and traders affected by the recent government-led demolition of illegal structures to observe a fast today.
Abdullahi Abbas, the party’s chairman, conveyed this request via an audio message to party loyalists, emphasizing the need for fervent prayers in gratitude for the party’s recent victory at the Court of Appeal, Daily Trust reports.
This call for fasting coincides with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s decision, representing the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), to contest the appellate court’s ruling at the Supreme Court.
Governor Yusuf, through his Chief Press Secretary, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, expressed his intent to challenge the judgment, expressing confidence that “the Supreme Court will, by the grace of Allah, overturn these perceived miscarriages of justice by the tribunal and Court of Appeal and uphold the mandate given by the people of Kano State.”
