Hon. Ginger Onwusibe, the House of Representatives member representing Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency, has firmly declared his refusal to acknowledge Senator Austin Akobundu as the new Senator for Abia Central Senatorial District.

Expressing his stance during a meeting with Labour Party members following the removal of Senator Darlington Nwokocha by the Appeal Court, Onwusibe criticized the court’s ruling, labeling it as the “greatest injustice” he has ever witnessed.

He criticized members of the Peoples Democratic Party from Isialngwa North and South who were celebrating Akobundu’s appointment, saying, “Those PDP members should be ashamed of themselves.”

Onwusibe highlighted the inability of both Akobundu and the PDP members to secure wins in their respective polling units despite alleged financial transactions.

He unequivocally stated, “Akobundu can’t come here, and I recognize him as a Senator. Never! I will not do it. Because he is the highest injustice that I have seen.”

Onwusibe’s statement could fester political acrimony between him and Akobundu, both of whom are members of the 10th National Assembly and from the same Senatorial District.
