Nigerian Afrobeat sensation Ayra Starr, also known as Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, is eagerly anticipating the 2024 Grammy Awards where her hit track ‘Rush’ is nominated for Best African Song Performance.

In a Cool FM Lagos interview, she shared her meticulous preparation for the prestigious event, revealing her readiness for the 66th Grammy Awards, as reported by Vanguard.

Ayra Starr not only expressed her excitement but also detailed her thorough planning, covering every aspect of her participation, including her attire, walk, and acceptance speech. When questioned by OAP Dotun about her readiness, Ayra confidently affirmed her preparedness for the Grammy Awards ceremony.

As a first-time nominee in the company of Nigerian music giants Davido, Asake, Olamide, and South Africa’s Tyla, with Grammy-winner Burna Boy rounding out the elite category, Ayra Starr emphasized her dedication to the event.

When probed about her post-win plans, Ayra humorously mentioned a visit to her favorite Chinese restaurant.

Beyond that, her immediate plan is to video call her mother to share the joyful news.

“I have my speech. I have everything done already. I already know my walk and my outfit,” Ayra confidently stated.

She further revealed that even if she doesn’t win this year, she has already laid out plans for her outfit and acceptance speech in the 2025 edition and subsequent years.

The 66th Grammy Awards are scheduled for February 5 at the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles, USA, with South African comedian Trevor Noah hosting this prestigious musical event.
