The 21st Century Youths of Niger Delta and Agitators with Conscience (CYNDAC) have vehemently criticized purported efforts to oust Senator Godswill Akpabio from his position as Senate President, cautioning that such actions could trigger economic and humanitarian crises in Nigeria.

In a strongly worded statement by its leader, Izon Ebi, the group declared their readiness to oppose any scheme aimed at undermining Akpabio’s leadership at the upper legislative chamber, stressing the vital role the Niger Delta plays in funding the national budget.

As reported by Vanguard, the group also called on senators not involved in the alleged plot to rein in their colleagues and halt any assaults on Akpabio, stating the importance of preserving the region’s economic prosperity.

“We are warning you people to stop it now and find yourself another business. We are fully aware that the Niger Delta is the source of the national budget funding and as such deserves more respect from all corners of this nation.

”We urge other senators that are not in this devilish plot to call their colleagues to order and stop every form of attack on our son.”

Highlighting Senator Akpabio’s exoneration by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and dismissing allegations of budget padding as propaganda, CYNDAC condemned what they perceive as a politically motivated campaign to discredit Akpabio’s leadership.

“These democratic coup plotters started with the allegation of budget padding to spew propaganda that is solely for the purpose of bringing down the Senate president. I think some northerners are becoming too addicted to this old-fashioned drama.”

As guardians of Niger Delta interests, CYNDAC cautioned against jeopardizing the region’s economic lifeline, urging all stakeholders to exercise wisdom and restraint in their actions.
