Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Lagos state,  Gbolahan Olugbemi, has been discovered dead, hanging in his Ogbomosho apartment in Oyo State following Easter celebrations.

Olugbemi, known for his key role during the #EndSARS protests, met his death under mysterious circumstances, throwing officers at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) into immediate mourning.

While FCID spokesperson ASP Aminat Mayegun confirmed an investigation into the incident, dispelling rumors of suicide, speculation swirls as to the circumstances surrounding Olugbemi’s death.

Insider sources suggest Olugbemi’s lifeless body was found unaccompanied in his mansion, prompting inquiries into his activities leading up to his demise.

A decorated law enforcement officer, Olugbemi served as the ADC to the late Oyo State Governor Alao Akala and held positions such as Divisional Police Officer at Ilupeju and Area Commander at Ajah in Lagos.

Known for his expertise in counter-terrorism, Olugbemi received accolades both domestically and internationally for his exemplary service and humanitarian efforts throughout his distinguished career.

A graduate of the University of Lagos and Olabisi Onabanjo University, Olugbemi leaves behind a legacy of dedication and valor in the law enforcement community.
