Mexican security forces have arrested Audias Flores-Silva, a senior figure in the powerful Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), who was wanted by the United States with a $5 million bounty.

Flores-Silva, widely known by his alias “El Jardinero,” was apprehended during a targeted operation by Mexican authorities, marking a significant blow to one of the country’s most dangerous criminal organizations. The arrest follows years of coordinated intelligence efforts between U.S. and Mexican agencies, as Flores-Silva had been on Washington’s most-wanted list for his alleged role in drug trafficking and organized crime.

The U.S. government had previously offered a $5 million reward for information leading to his capture, underscoring his high-ranking status within the CJNG. The cartel is known for its involvement in large-scale drug production and distribution, as well as violent clashes with rival groups and security forces.

Authorities have not yet disclosed whether Flores-Silva will face extradition to the United States, but officials say his detention is expected to disrupt key operations within the cartel. Investigations are ongoing as law enforcement agencies seek to dismantle remaining networks linked to his activities.
