The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, and Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, have declared that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has no electoral foothold in Ebonyi State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The declaration was made on Monday during a massive endorsement rally for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu held at the Abakaliki Township Stadium, where top political figures from across the country gathered in support of his re-election bid.
The event, organised by Governor Nwifuru and Minister of Works David Umahi, attracted prominent leaders including Governors Chukwuma Soludo and Hope Uzodimma, as well as the Deputy Governor of Enugu State representing Governor Peter Mbah.
Speaking at the rally, Yilwatda dismissed claims that Ebonyi had been politically conceded to the PDP, insisting that there is “no vacancy” in the state Government House. He vowed that the APC would secure victory for President Tinubu, Governor Nwifuru, and all party candidates across positions in 2027.
Governor Nwifuru also reaffirmed Ebonyi’s full support for President Tinubu, declaring that the state has no alternative presidential candidate and remains firmly under APC control. He dismissed rumours of political realignment, warning against attempts to create division within the state.
Minister David Umahi, in his remarks, praised President Tinubu’s administration, saying the South-East and Ebonyi State in particular have benefited significantly from federal infrastructure projects and political inclusion.
The rally ended with renewed commitments from APC leaders to consolidate their dominance in Ebonyi State ahead of the 2027 elections.
