The Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Ihuoma Emeruwa, has assured the family of late nursing student, Wendy Achumba, that those responsible for her death will be brought to justice.
Emeruwa gave the assurance during a condolence visit to the family in Aba, following the tragic death of the 21-year-old student of Our Lady of Mercy Nursing School.
The Speaker revealed that the State House of Assembly had already deliberated on the matter and adopted a motion aimed at accelerating government efforts to ensure a thorough investigation and prosecution of those involved.
He stated that both the Assembly and the Abia State Government are committed to securing justice for the deceased and preventing similar incidents in the future.
Responding on behalf of the family, Rev. T.O. Ikpemmadu expressed gratitude to the Speaker and the state government for their support and commitment to pursuing justice.
The case has continued to generate public concern, with renewed calls for swift action from law enforcement authorities.
