The Anambra State Police Command has recorded another breakthrough in its fight against crime with the arrest of three suspects linked to armed robbery, suspected drug trafficking, and cult-related activities.

According to the Police, operatives of the Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU), while on patrol along the Igbariam-Achalla Road on June 19, intercepted and arrested two suspects identified as Williams Ndifon and David Missang, both aged 27.

A search conducted on the suspects led to the recovery of a locally made Beretta pistol, one live ammunition, a Daylong motorcycle, six mobile phones, two power banks, a sledgehammer, a metal crack tool, and quantities of substances suspected to be Cannabis Sativa. Police also recovered a black polo shirt bearing the inscription “Nigeria Army Barracks Youths Foundation (NABYF).”

In a separate operation on the same day, VCRU operatives acting on intelligence arrested a 21-year-old suspect, Oluchukwu Onyekwe, at Agukwu Nri in Anaocha Local Government Area.

The suspect was allegedly found in possession of quantities of dried weeds suspected to be Cannabis Sativa, while preliminary investigations linked him to cult-related activities within the area.

The Police Command said all three suspects are currently in custody and assisting investigators, while efforts are ongoing to uncover possible criminal networks connected to the arrests.

The Command reaffirmed its commitment to combating crime and urged residents to continue providing credible and timely information to support ongoing security operations across the state.
