The Anambra State Police Command has secured a court order remanding a couple at a correctional facility over the alleged abuse of a 10-year-old boy.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the suspects were arraigned after preliminary investigations into the case, which drew public attention following the circulation of reports and a video of the victim on social media.
Ikenga commended members of the public for providing timely information that led to the rescue of the child, his medical treatment, and the arrest of the suspects.
He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring justice for the victim and protecting the rights of children, urging residents to promptly report cases of child abuse and other forms of violence to enable swift intervention.
