Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has called for stronger collaboration among security agencies and improved intelligence sharing to tackle Nigeria’s security challenges.

Speaking while receiving participants of Course 25 of the Defence Intelligence College, Abuja, at the Government House, Owerri, Uzodimma said the security gains recorded in Imo State were achieved through effective cooperation among security agencies.

He identified unemployment, infrastructure deficits, and rapid population growth without matching economic opportunities as key drivers of insecurity, stressing that sustainable economic development remains the long-term solution.

The governor urged intelligence officers to strengthen coordination, improve information sharing, and engage local communities to enhance preventive security measures. He also encouraged the delegation to study Imo’s security architecture and develop practical recommendations for improving security nationwide.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Commodore Usman Bugaje, said the study tour focuses on the role of operational intelligence in crisis prevention and national security. He noted that Imo was selected due to the significant improvements in security under Uzodimma’s administration.
