Governor Hope Uzodimma has declared that Imo State is ready to attract investors from across the world, citing significant improvements in infrastructure, security and economic development under his administration.
The governor made the declaration at the 2026 Orlu Regional Assembly in Dallas, Texas, United States, where he was represented by the Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba.
Uzodimma said the state’s investment readiness is driven by major achievements recorded over the past six years, particularly in road infrastructure, energy, air transportation, security and human capital development.
According to him, the improvements have created a conducive environment for businesses and positioned Imo as a preferred investment destination.
“The Imo State of yesterday is not the Imo of today. We have positioned the state for industry, and we urge our people in the diaspora to help attract global investors back home,” the governor said.
He highlighted the completion of critical road projects linking Imo to neighbouring states, noting that nearly every local government area has benefited from quality road construction.
The governor also pointed to the state’s independent power plant, which currently provides uninterrupted electricity to parts of the state, as a major milestone aimed at supporting industrial growth and attracting investment.
Uzodimma further disclosed that Imo is already reaping the benefits of its inaugural Economic Summit held last year, expressing optimism that continued engagement with investors would accelerate economic growth.
He called on members of the Orlu Regional Assembly and other Imo indigenes in the diaspora to serve as ambassadors for the state by promoting its investment opportunities to the international business community.
The governor also highlighted development projects executed in Orlu Zone, including the establishment of a university and a polytechnic, the construction of a Government House Annex and the upgrade of the Imo State Teaching Hospital, Orlu, into a modern tertiary healthcare facility.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustained development across the state and urged continued support for President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda as part of efforts to advance national development.
