A delegation from the Anambra Man of the Year Awards has paid a courtesy visit to the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko, Dr. Irene Chioma Awuzie, following her unanimous nomination for the Public Servant of the Year Award.
The delegation, comprising Prof. Adaoma Igwedibia, Chikezie Chiedu, and Chinedu Okafor, was received by the Rector alongside the institution’s Deputy Rectors, Registrar and Bursar.
During the visit, the AMTY representatives outlined the history, vision and mission of the awards, describing the platform as one dedicated to recognising individuals who have distinguished themselves through exemplary leadership, integrity and outstanding service to society.
They explained that Dr. Awuzie’s unanimous nomination was in recognition of her transformational leadership, innovative reforms and the significant progress recorded at Federal Polytechnic Oko within a relatively short period of her administration.
Responding, Dr. Awuzie expressed appreciation to the organisers for the recognition, describing the nomination as a testament to the collective efforts and dedication of the entire Polytechnic community.
She reaffirmed her commitment to providing purposeful leadership and sustaining initiatives aimed at advancing the institution’s academic and administrative excellence.
The Rector formally accepted the nomination and confirmed her attendance at the forthcoming Anambra Man of the Year Awards ceremony.
Also speaking, the Director of Public Relations and Protocol of the Polytechnic, Dr. Nkiru Ugochukwu-Akabuike, commended the organisers of the AMTY Awards for sustaining a credible platform that celebrates excellence, integrity and impactful public service.
