The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko, Chioma Irene Awuzie, has reaffirmed her commitment to improving campus security by addressing the welfare needs of security personnel and promising additional support to enhance safety across the institution.

The assurance came during a guard of honour organised by the institution’s security unit in appreciation of the Rector’s efforts to improve their working conditions.

The Chief Security Officer, Abdulahi David, commended the Rector for clearing outstanding salary arrears, constructing new security posts at the permanent site and Ufuma campus, and facilitating the employment of some security personnel.

Responding, Dr. Awuzie praised the security team for their dedication in protecting the institution and announced that the Tertiary Education Trust Fund would commence the installation of an alternative energy system to improve lighting on campus and further strengthen security.
