A newly formed socio-political group, the Royal Front of Ezza Ezekuna, also known as Ezza Frontliners, has endorsed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, for the 2027 Ebonyi State governorship election.
In a statement issued after its inaugural meeting in Enugu, the group’s Convener, Ambassador Paschal Oluchukwu, called on Ezza Ezekuna people across Nigeria and the diaspora to unite behind Dr. Odii, describing him as a tested leader with a proven record of philanthropy, youth empowerment and community development.
According to the group, Dr. Odii’s achievements in the private sector and his contributions to improving the lives of vulnerable persons across Ebonyi State make him the most qualified candidate to lead the state.
Also speaking, PDP chieftain, Chief Christopher Ngwuta, urged the people of Ezza Ezekuna not to be swayed by political promises of future power rotation, insisting that they should support a candidate they believe has the capacity to provide inclusive leadership and advance the interests of the Ezza people.
He argued that the Ezza nation, despite being one of the largest ethnic groups in Ebonyi State, has yet to produce a governor since the state’s creation and should make informed political decisions ahead of the 2027 election.
A former member of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon. Ikechukwu Nwobo, also called on residents to prioritise competence and good governance over zoning, alleging that the state requires a change in leadership direction.
The group pledged to mobilise support for Dr. Odii across communities where Ezza Ezekuna people reside, expressing confidence in the PDP candidate’s chances in the 2027 governorship election.
