Stakeholders in Abia North Senatorial District have endorsed Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for re-election ahead of the 2027 National Assembly elections, citing his legislative performance, constituency projects and commitment to the development of the district.
The endorsement was contained in a statement issued on behalf of the stakeholders by Professor of Sociology, Ohajuru Nnabuike.
The group described the former Abia State Governor and ex-Senate Chief Whip as an experienced legislator whose representation has attracted significant developmental projects and democratic dividends to the people of Abia North.
According to the stakeholders, continuity in representation is essential to sustaining the progress already recorded in the district, stressing that Senator Kalu has consistently demonstrated competence, effective advocacy and a strong commitment to the welfare of his constituents.
They maintained that his legislative achievements and constituency interventions have positioned him as a dependable representative, adding that replacing a proven performer with an untested candidate could undermine the district’s development.
The stakeholders also appealed to young people, particularly first-time voters, to participate actively in the democratic process by supporting candidates with verifiable records of service and performance.
They expressed confidence that Senator Kalu’s return to the National Assembly would further enhance efforts to attract federal projects, promote people-oriented legislation and consolidate the developmental gains recorded across Abia North.
