A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Udengwu Nwankwo, has advised Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, to reduce attendance at birthday celebrations and other social events in order to maintain focus on governance and public service.
Speaking while assessing the governor’s performance, Nwankwo commended Soludo for what he described as notable achievements, particularly in the area of security.
He, however, urged the governor to decline invitations to birthday celebrations organised by political associates and influential individuals, arguing that such engagements could distract from governance and create negative public perceptions.
Nwankwo cited the governor’s recent attendance at the birthday celebrations of APGA National Chairman, Chief Victor Oye, and Chief Cosmas Omenugha, as examples of events he believes should not take priority over official responsibilities.
According to the APC chieftain, government time and resources should be directed toward projects and programmes that directly benefit the people, especially during the current economic challenges.
He encouraged Governor Soludo to remain focused on delivering development projects and sustaining improvements in security and other critical sectors for the benefit of Anambra residents.
