Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has reaffirmed his commitment to the Labour Party (LP), declaring that he remains loyal to the party and will support its presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during his monthly media chat, Governor Otti dismissed speculation linking him to other political platforms, stressing that the Labour Party already has a presidential candidate.
He said his focus remains on delivering good governance to the people of Abia State and not on premature political debates or alliances.
According to the governor, his administration is committed to fulfilling the mandate entrusted to it by the people, adding that governance remains his top priority.
On infrastructure and transportation, Otti announced that the state government has acquired 20 additional electric buses to boost the inter-city transport system and make transportation more affordable and efficient for residents.
The governor also reiterated his administration’s zero-tolerance stance on crime, warning that criminals would have no hiding place in Abia State.
He assured retirees that the payment of outstanding gratuities would commence soon, revealing that funds for the exercise had already been set aside, pending the completion of necessary documentation.
Governor Otti further disclosed that Abia State continues to attract local and foreign investors, attributing the growing interest to his administration’s reforms aimed at creating a business-friendly environment.
He said investors from Europe, the United States, Asia and other parts of the world are exploring investment opportunities in the state, expressing confidence that the investments would stimulate economic growth and create employment opportunities for the people of Abia.
