Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has declared that President Bola Tinubu is cruising toward an easy victory in the 2027 presidential election, describing the poll as a “coronation” rather than a competitive contest.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Keyamo defended the Tinubu administration’s performance and expressed confidence that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would comfortably retain power in 2027.

Dismissing the chances of opposition candidates, the minister questioned where former Anambra State governor Peter Obi would secure enough votes to challenge the President.

“I’m looking around, between you and me, where will Obi’s votes come from? I can’t see it,” he said.

When asked whether former Vice President Atiku Abubakar posed a serious threat, Keyamo brushed off the suggestion with a laugh.

“Which Atiku? Nightmare, who?”

The minister went on to predict an overwhelming victory for Tinubu, insisting his confidence was based on electoral demographics rather than arrogance.

“I want to make a profound statement, as a closing statement, eh? Not out of arrogance, not out of overconfidence, but out of pure demographic calculations, the 2027 election is a coronation, not an election.”

Keyamo, however, stressed that his assertions should not be misconstrued, maintaining that his prediction was rooted in demographic realities.

He also pointed to the APC’s recent electoral victories as evidence that the party remained firmly in control of the political landscape.

“But we have won in Ekiti now. We told them to vote, they voted. FCT, they voted. We won! We won!”

As the interview drew to a close, the minister delivered a parting shot at the opposition with a cryptic warning.

“Jungle is about to be mature, eh? Very well. Everywhere go blur for them. Everywhere go blur.”
