The member representing Ebonyi North East Constituency in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Chinyere Juliet Nwogbaga, has continued the disbursement of scholarships to indigent but outstanding students across the seven wards of her constituency as part of efforts to promote access to quality education.
The scholarships, awarded under the Adaeji Eje Mba Charity Foundation, benefited students from various tertiary institutions and are aimed at supporting academically gifted students from less privileged backgrounds.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Hon. Nwogbaga described education as the greatest investment any society can make, noting that the scholarship programme complements the Ebonyi State Government’s commitment to human capital development.
She urged beneficiaries to remain committed to academic excellence, warning that poor academic performance or misconduct could result in the withdrawal of the scholarship.
The lawmaker also encouraged the students to acquire vocational and entrepreneurial skills alongside their formal education to improve their future employment and business opportunities.
Hon. Nwogbaga commended Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for creating an enabling environment for effective representation and acknowledged the administration’s investments in infrastructure, education and youth development across the state.
She further praised the Wife of the Governor, Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, for her humanitarian interventions aimed at supporting vulnerable groups.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Adaeji Eje Mba Scholarship Foundation, Ben Nwofoke, said the foundation was established in 2024 to provide educational support and humanitarian assistance to indigent students, widows, orphans and other vulnerable persons.
He commended Hon. Nwogbaga for what he described as impactful representation, highlighting several constituency projects executed under her leadership, including the installation of solar-powered street lights, provision of boreholes, rural electrification projects, distribution of agricultural inputs, payment of WAEC examination fees, youth and women empowerment programmes, business grants, football competitions and medical support for indigent residents.
