Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has urged Christians to become voices of truth, integrity and righteousness by countering negative societal influences with godly values, purposeful leadership and exemplary character.
Governor Eno made the call on Sunday, August 2, 2026, while delivering the keynote message at the Special Leadership Sunday Service of Shepherd’s House Assembly International, Apo Resettlement, Abuja, themed, “Becoming the Voice of Influence.”
The Governor warned against the growing influence of social media, entertainment and fashion trends that promote distraction rather than positive transformation, stressing that genuine influence should inspire hope, promote peace and positively impact lives.
He charged Christians, particularly parents and aspiring leaders, to embrace humility, integrity and service, noting that true influence begins at home and is built through good character and purposeful living.
Governor Eno further urged the Church to remain committed to raising a generation anchored in God’s purpose and equipped to provide principled leadership in society.
The service was attended by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah ; former Senator Effiong Bob; members of the House of Representatives; the Managing Director of the South South Development Commission, Usoro Akpabio; MD Hensek Integrated Services, Engr. Uwem Stephen Okoko, the Permanent Secretary, Akwa Ibom State Liaison Office, Abuja, TPL Aniekan Akpan, among other dignitaries.
