Christian faithful have been urged to remain steadfast in their faith and make thanksgiving a constant part of their prayers, especially amid the challenges and uncertainties of daily life.
The call was made by the Resident Minister of Christ Holy Church International, Number Two, Awka, Senior Evangelist Henry Damanze, who said worries over family, finances, health and the future could make people lose sight of God’s blessings.
Speaking on the need for gratitude, Senior Evangelist Damanze urged Christians to follow the biblical counsel of Apostle Paul by presenting their requests to God through prayer, supplication and thanksgiving.
He stressed that thanksgiving should not be treated as an afterthought but as an essential expression of faith, trust and appreciation for God’s blessings.
Also speaking, the Manager of Mater Amabilis Secondary School, Umuoji, Reverend Father Francis Onwuchulum, encouraged Christians to remain focused on Jesus Christ despite the economic, health and social challenges confronting many Nigerians.
He identified sickness, financial difficulties, family challenges and uncertainty about the future as some of the issues weighing heavily on people.
According to him, Jesus Christ may not always remove the storms confronting believers, but He gives them the strength and courage to overcome them.
Using the biblical account of Apostle Peter walking on water, Father Onwuchulum explained that Peter remained above the water while his eyes were fixed on Jesus but began to sink when he became distracted by the storm.
He therefore urged Christians to keep their focus on Christ regardless of the difficulties they face, noting that faith and thanksgiving can help believers navigate life’s challenges with hope, courage and confidence.
