Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has presented 32 campaign buses to leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The governor presented the vehicles on Saturday at the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre in Owerri.
The beneficiaries include the 27 APC Local Government Area chairmen, three zonal chairmen, the state women leader and the state youth leader.
Speaking at the event, Uzodimma charged party leaders and members to work towards securing total victory for the APC in Imo State in the 2027 elections, insisting that anything short of 100 per cent would be unacceptable.
“Imo is APC and APC is Imo. We will deliver 100 percent. 99.9 percent will be unacceptable,” the governor declared.
Uzodimma said the party had sufficient achievements to campaign on, particularly those recorded by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“We have the material to campaign because President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done tremendously well. Even our opponents will vote for President Tinubu,” he said.
The governor also urged his supporters and political associates to demonstrate their loyalty by voting for the APC and supporting President Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
He explained that the buses were provided to enhance the party’s grassroots operations and enable its leaders to effectively take the APC’s message to communities across the state.
Uzodimma, however, directed the beneficiaries to ensure that the vehicles were used strictly for party mobilisation.
“Please use the vehicles for the party. It is important that the vehicles must be used to work for the party,” he said.
Earlier, the APC State Chairman, Chief Austin Onyedebelu, thanked the governor for the gesture, saying the buses would strengthen the party’s ability to reach voters across the 27 local government areas.
Onyedebelu pledged that the state APC would work towards delivering all the party’s candidates, from the presidential level to candidates contesting seats in the State Houses of Assembly.
He described the governor’s intervention as a demonstration of his commitment to strengthening the party structure and assured him of the party’s support.
Also speaking, the APC South-East Zonal Vice Chairman, Chief Ijeoma Arodiogbu, commended Uzodimma for providing the vehicles and urged party officials to deploy them effectively for grassroots mobilisation.
Arodiogbu warned that party officers would be expected to use the vehicles productively as the APC intensifies preparations for the 2027 elections.
The distribution brings to 32 the number of campaign buses provided to APC leaders across Imo State, with the party expected to intensify its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
