The Anambra State Government has directed all public, mission and private primary and secondary schools across the state to complete and submit their 2025/2026 Annual School Census data on or before September 24, 2026.
The directive was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Dr. Ifeoma Agbaizu, on behalf of the Commissioner for Education.
According to Agbaizu, the directive followed a requirement by the Federal Ministry of Education for schools to upload their Annual School Census data through the DNEMIS/DHIS2 platform.
She noted that school-level training had already been conducted for public and private schools across the state to facilitate the submission of the required information.
The Ministry stated that participation was mandatory for all public, mission and private primary and secondary schools, including both approved and unapproved private schools.
The Permanent Secretary urged heads of schools and school operators to provide accurate and complete information, carefully verify all entries and ensure successful submission within the stipulated deadline.
She further directed school authorities to ensure that no school under their supervision was excluded from the exercise.
Agbaizu stressed that the census exercise should be treated as a priority and warned that schools that failed to comply within the stipulated deadline would face severe sanctions or penalties.
She therefore called on all affected schools to commence immediate action to ensure full and timely compliance with the directive.
