Integrated payments and digital commerce company, Interswitch, has commenced the sixth edition of its TechConnect industry engagement series in Owerri, Imo State, bringing together stakeholders from the government, financial services, technology and business sectors.

The initiative, themed “Built for What’s Next: Designing Adaptive Financial Infrastructure for a Dynamic Market,” is focused on exploring the infrastructure, strategic partnerships and technological capabilities required to support Nigeria’s rapidly evolving digital economy.

The Owerri edition, held at Protea Hotel, is the first stop of the multi city TechConnect 6.0 roadshow, which will continue to other major commercial centres across the country.

According to the organisers, the series will examine how businesses and organisations can develop scalable, interconnected, secure and responsive systems capable of adapting to changing consumer expectations and emerging business models.

Following the Owerri engagement, the TechConnect 6.0 roadshow is scheduled to move to Abuja on October 8, Ibadan on October 22, and conclude in Lagos on October 27.

Speaking on the importance of developing future-ready technological infrastructure, Vice President, Business Innovation and Growth at Interswitch, Tyoyila Aga, stressed the need for flexibility in technology deployment.

Aga said building for the future requires infrastructure to be designed with change in mind, noting that markets, customer expectations and business needs will continue to evolve.

He explained that technological systems must therefore be scalable, interoperable, secure and resilient enough to adapt to emerging demands.

According to him, the opportunity extends beyond simply adopting new technologies to developing connected infrastructure capable of supporting new services, channels and possibilities as they emerge.

The TechConnect 6.0 initiative is expected to provide a platform for industry stakeholders to exchange ideas, identify emerging opportunities and discuss strategies for strengthening digital infrastructure and financial technology in an increasingly dynamic market.
