Dunamis International Gospel Centre, led by Senior Pastors Dr Paul and Dr Becky Enenche, has constructed and commissioned a pedestrian bridge along the busy Abuja Airport Road, close to the church’s headquarters, the Glory Dome.
The project is aimed at improving pedestrian safety and reducing the risk of road accidents along the major highway.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony on Friday, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, commended the church for its contribution to public infrastructure and announced that the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) would reimburse the church 50 per cent of the total construction cost.
Wike disclosed that although the church submitted its application for approval in 2018, the request came to his attention in February 2026, after which approval was granted within one month.
In his remarks, Senior Pastor Paul Enenche described the project as an expression of Christian love through practical service to humanity. He emphasised that religious responsibility should extend beyond preaching to initiatives that improve people’s lives and promote public welfare.
The church also announced plans to install additional protective coverings, security lighting and transparent side panels to improve the safety and convenience of pedestrians using the bridge.
The development highlights the potential of collaboration between government and private institutions, including religious organisations, in addressing infrastructure needs and improving public safety.
