Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has directed the country’s military commanders to respond immediately to any threat, warning that retaliation could extend beyond geographical boundaries.
In a statement published on his official website, Khamenei instructed military leaders to meet “any level or type of threat” with an “immediate, impactful and geographically unrestricted response.”
He also ordered an expansion of potential targets to include “all types of tangible and intangible assets belonging to the American-Zionist enemy.”
The directives were reportedly issued during his first known meeting with senior military officials, including Chief of Staff Ali Abdollahi, Army Chief Amir Hatami and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Commander Ahmad Vahidi.
The statement signals a tougher military posture from Tehran as tensions with the United States and Israel continue to escalate.
Meanwhile, Iranian army spokesman Mohammad Akraminia warned that any further military confrontation could spread beyond its current areas of conflict.
“The flames of war will undoubtedly engulf a much wider geographical area,” Akraminia said.
His warning comes amid growing concerns that an escalation between Iran, the United States and Israel could draw additional countries into a wider regional conflict.
The latest statements from Iran’s leadership have raised fears of further military action, although the extent and timing of any potential response remain unclear.
