Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced another significant reduction in diesel and aviation fuel prices to N940 and N980 per litre, respectively, building on its recent price cut to N1,000 just two weeks ago.

Reports by Vanguard indicate that the revised pricing structure offers the N940 rate to customers purchasing five million litres or more, while those buying one million litres or above will benefit from the N970 rate.

Anthony Chiejina, Head of Communication, explained the company’s commitment to mitigating economic challenges in Nigeria through strategic partnerships with MRS Oil and Gas stations.

Under this collaboration, consumers can access diesel for as low as N1,050 per litre and aviation fuel for N980 at all major airports where MRS operates.

“I can confirm to you that Dangote Petroleum Refinery has entered a strategic partnership with MRS Oil and Gas stations, to ensure that consumers get to buy fuel at affordable price, in all their stations be it Lagos or Maiduguri. You can buy as low as 1 litre of diesel at N1,050 and aviation fuel at N980 at all major airports where MRS operates.

“The essence of this is to ensure that retail buyers do not buy at exorbitant prices. The Dangote Group is committed to ensuring that Nigerians have a better welfare and as such, we are happy to announce these new prices and hope that it would go a long way to cushion the effect of economic challenges in the country.”

This latest price adjustment follows Dangote Petroleum Refinery’s previous reductions, from N1,200 to N1,000 per litre for diesel, marking the third major decrease within three weeks. President Bola Tinubu had lauded the initial price cut as an “enterprising feat.”

In response, Ajayi Kadiri, Director General of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), praised Dangote Refinery’s proactive measures, noting the positive impact on the national economy.

He anticipated significant benefits across various sectors, including industrial operations, transportation, logistics, and agriculture, contributing to a reduction in the country’s high inflation rate.
