Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has assured that his administration will fully implement the recent Supreme Court judgment on the state’s political crisis. He emphasized that the interest of Rivers State remains paramount over personal ambitions.
Speaking at the inauguration of new Judges’ Quarters in Old GRA, Port Harcourt, Fubara acknowledged the financial losses incurred during the crisis and stressed the need for unity and development. He reaffirmed his commitment to peace, stating, “No price is too big to pay for peace in this state.”
Fubara highlighted the significance of the Judges’ Quarters project, inherited from the previous administration, as a testament to his government’s dedication to judicial welfare. He urged proper maintenance of the facility and pledged continued executive support.
Rivers Chief Judge, Justice Simeon Amadi, who commissioned the project, commended Fubara for completing the initiative, which aligns with the Rivers State Housing Scheme for Judicial Officers Law. The scheme ensures judges, who are state indigenes by birth or marriage, receive official housing or financial compensation.
Solicitor-General Mrs. Ibiwari Clapton-Ogolo noted that the newly commissioned seven five-bedroom duplexes are designed to provide judges with a comfortable and dignified living environment.
