The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has lashed out at a staff member of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) over their inability to provide a good sound system for him at an official event.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony of the rehabilitation of 135 roads and bridges in the FCT, the former Rivers Governor blasted the organizers of the event from the FCDA, angrily stating that their failure to properly fix the program’s microphone demonstrates the institution’s lack of ability to manage the affairs of the capital city.
He said, “First of all, let me express my displeasure to FCDA. It is unfortunate, and that is why FCT is where it is. If an ordinary microphone cannot be arranged to work, how will FCT work? It can’t work. It is a shame at this level!”
“And let me warn all those who are concerned, this will be the last time I will appear in a public function and I get this embarrassment. This should be the last time; it will not happen again. It will never happen again,” Wike warned.
Recall that since he assumed office, the FCT minister has been piling up pressure on the staff of FCDA and FCTA and, in August, warned those who are not willing to sit up to seek redeployment.
