Google has unveiled its first Google Developers Space in Africa in Lagos, Nigeria, a new hub aimed at nurturing local tech talent, supporting startups, and strengthening the country’s fast-growing digital ecosystem.

Located in Lagos, the new Google Developers Space will serve as a physical base for developers, startup founders, and tech communities to access training, mentorship, events, and networking opportunities tailored to the Nigerian and African tech landscape. The space includes event areas, meeting rooms, and collaboration zones designed to host workshops, hackathons, and community meetups around Google technologies and broader digital skills.

Google said the Lagos hub is part of its broader commitment to support innovation and entrepreneurship in Africa by providing resources that help local startups build scalable products and connect with global markets.

Through programmes such as developer trainings, startup accelerators, and community events, the Developers Space is expected to help early-stage founders refine their ideas, access technical expertise, and build investor-ready businesses.
