Professor Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe has officially taken the oath of office as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his election at the party’s national convention.
The swearing-in ceremony, held in Abuja, marked the beginning of a new leadership era for the ruling party. Goshwe, who previously served as the APC governorship candidate in Plateau State during the 2023 elections, emerged as chairman after delegates overwhelmingly endorsed him at the convention.
He took the oath of office alongside other members of the newly elected National Working Committee (NWC), signaling the party’s readiness to strengthen its internal structures and prepare for upcoming elections.
In his inaugural address, Prof. Goshwe pledged to uphold transparency, unity, and inclusiveness within the APC, emphasizing that the new leadership would prioritize reconciliation and grassroots mobilization.
Party stakeholders and political observers say the new chairman faces significant challenges, including managing internal party disputes and sustaining APC’s dominance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
