Iran’s largest steel producer, Mobarakeh Steel Company, has shut down all production lines following extensive damage from repeated airstrikes that left its facilities inoperable.
The company announced on Friday that continued operations had become impossible after multiple strikes severely damaged major sections of its production plant. All employees have been instructed not to return to work until further notice, as engineers assess the full extent of the destruction.
Mobarakeh Steel, a key player in Iran’s industrial sector and one of the Middle East’s largest producers, is located in Isfahan Province and supplies steel to a range of domestic industries. The shutdown is expected to significantly disrupt Iran’s construction and manufacturing sectors, which heavily rely on Mobarakeh’s output.
While officials have not yet disclosed details of casualties or the identity of those responsible for the airstrikes, eyewitnesses reported heavy explosions around the complex in recent days. The Iranian government is reportedly investigating the incident and considering potential retaliatory measures.
