The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State has accused Governor Alex Otti of taking credit for projects executed by the Federal Government while failing to acknowledge the contributions of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

In a statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Uche Aguoru, the APC alleged that Governor Otti has consistently avoided publicly recognising federal interventions in the state, particularly infrastructure projects initiated under the Tinubu administration.

The party also challenged the governor to openly declare his stance on President Tinubu’s second-term bid and publicly support his re-election if he believes in the administration’s policies and achievements.

According to Aguoru, Governor Otti’s handling of the recent Renewed Hope National Media Tour reflected what the APC described as a deliberate effort to distance himself from Federal Government projects in the state.

The APC further alleged that some aides, appointees and supporters of the governor frequently criticise President Tinubu and the ruling party, questioning the governor’s commitment to supporting the President politically.

The party also accused the Abia State Government of presenting certain Federal Government projects as achievements of the state administration, insisting that President Tinubu deserves recognition for interventions carried out in Abia.

Aguoru stated that the APC would continue to sensitise residents on the Federal Government’s contributions to the state’s development and ensure that credit is given where it is due.

The Abia State Government has yet to officially respond to the allegations.
