Anambra State has recorded a major step in its industrialisation agenda as the Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engr. Casmir Chinenye Agummadu, inspected the ongoing Ogboji Injection Sub-Station project in Orumba North Local Government Area.
The inspection, carried out on June 16, is part of efforts to assess progress on a key infrastructure project designed to supply 20 to 24 hours of uninterrupted electricity to the Anambra Mixed Industrial City (AMIC), a flagship economic development zone.
The Ogboji Sub-Station is expected to serve as the power backbone of the industrial city, providing stable electricity for industries, businesses, and investors, while reducing operational costs and boosting industrial productivity in the state.
During the inspection, the Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the level of work done, noting that major components of the project have been completed. These include installation of electric poles, cable laying, construction of the control building, and completion of landscaping works.
He also confirmed that a 7.5MVA 33/11KV transformer has already been installed to support current and future power demands of the industrial hub.
According to Engr. Agummadu, the project aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s industrialisation vision aimed at attracting investment, creating jobs, and strengthening infrastructure across the state.
He described the facility as a transformative project that will position Anambra as a competitive destination for manufacturing, business expansion, and innovation once fully operational.
When completed, the sub-station is expected to significantly enhance economic activities within the industrial city and surrounding communities, supporting the state’s drive toward a modern, investment-driven economy.
