The President of the Senate, , on Wednesday inaugurated four newly elected senators following their victories in the recent by-elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The lawmakers sworn in are of the APC representing Enugu North, of the PDP representing Rivers South-East, of the APC representing Ondo South, and of the APC representing Nasarawa North.

The swearing-in ceremony took place during plenary at the National Assembly, with prominent dignitaries, including and , in attendance.

Speaking during the ceremony, Akpabio congratulated the newly elected lawmakers and noted that the APC secured three of the four seats contested, while the PDP won one.

The by-elections were conducted to fill vacancies created by the deaths of former senators and the appointment of a serving senator to a diplomatic position. The newly inaugurated lawmakers will now complete the mandates of their respective senatorial districts.

The development restores full representation to the affected constituencies and further strengthens the APC’s numerical advantage in the 10th Senate.
