The Novelty Football match between the female team of Association of Heads of Federal Establishment, AHFE ,Akwa Ibom State and the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ Akwa Ibom State Council ended 2-1 in favour of NAWOJ.
The 40 minute game was full of impressive performance from both female teams. Unyime Bassey pulled the first goal through a penalty shootout to give NAWOJ the first goal of the match while the representative From Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sufficiency Came from the left side to give AHFE a requalising lone goal which brought a 1-1 draw in the first half of the game.
The victory goal for NAWOJ was skillfully scored by Mary Ekere in the second half of the game.
Speaking after the Match, The Chairman, Association of Heads of Federal Establishment, Akwa Ibom State, Mrs Uduak Essien commended the teams, noting that the sports which is part of activities to mark the Civil service week is aimed at building collaboration and synagy amongst MDAs to enhance productivity.
The NAWOJ team Captain, Miss Mary Ekere express appreciation to the organisers, adding that though the invitation to play the football from AHFE came late but NAWOJ team was able to win the game.
ON her part, the captain of AHFE team, Mrs Cornelia Ibanga Said despite the first appearance of AHFE female football team , the performance was impressive.
The teams have members of their associations to cheer them up during the game.
