The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra State Sector Command, has advised parents and motorists to always secure babies in the back seat while driving, warning that placing children in the front seat exposes them to serious danger during road crashes.

The warning was issued by the Anambra State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Bridget Asekhauno, during a road safety outreach at Jesus Is Alive Church, Eziowelle, where she also cautioned against the use of mobile phones while driving and vehicle overloading.

Addressing over 1,000 worshippers on the theme, “Getting to Your Destination Safely is in Your Hands,” Asekhauno stressed that most road crashes are caused by human negligence rather than supernatural forces. She urged motorists to obey traffic rules, road signs and safety regulations to prevent avoidable accidents.

The FRSC boss reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to promoting road safety across the state and encouraged residents to spread road safety awareness within their communities.

Responding, the General Overseer of Jesus Is Alive Church, Archbishop Dr. Onyekachukwu Nzekwesi, commended the FRSC for the sensitisation programme and urged members of the congregation to comply with traffic regulations to ensure safer roads.
