Five police officers, including an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), have pleaded not guilty to charges arising from the alleged extra-judicial killing of 28-year-old Delta-based musician, Oghenemine Ogidi, popularly known as OG Million.

The officers were arraigned before the Delta State High Court in Asaba over the alleged incident, which occurred on April 26, 2026, in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

ASP Usman Nuhu is facing a charge of murder, while ASPs Owoloko Daurou Pamo and Okoh Kelechi, alongside Inspectors Goodluck Kingsley and Omonigho Ahweyevu, are standing trial on charges of negligent acts causing harm.

According to the prosecution, the late musician was allegedly restrained on the ground before being shot at close range by ASP Nuhu in the presence of the other officers.

All five defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges when they appeared before the court.

Presiding Judge, Justice M. Nduka, adjourned the matter until July 14, 2026, for the commencement of trial.

Speaking on the development, the Delta State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Ekemejero Ohwovoriole (SAN), assured the public that the state government is committed to ensuring diligent prosecution of the case.

He urged residents to remain calm and allow the judicial process to run its course, reaffirming the government’s commitment to justice and the rule of law.

The case is expected to attract significant public attention as proceedings begin later this month.
