The Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Infrastructure has reaffirmed its commitment to quality infrastructure delivery, insisting that the ongoing Oko–Ufuma dual carriageway project must strictly comply with approved engineering specifications.
During an oversight visit to the project site in Orumba North Local Government Area, the committee paid particular attention to the construction of the Oko Roundabout, describing it as a critical component of the road project.
Chairman of the committee and member representing Orumba South Constituency, Engr. Emmanuel Nwafor, stressed that the exact circumference and other structural measurements of the roundabout must conform to the approved engineering design to ensure road safety, durability and smooth traffic flow.
He expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work, noting that the project is progressing steadily in line with the Anambra State Government’s drive to deliver modern and durable road infrastructure.
Responding, the contractor assured the lawmakers that every aspect of the project, including the Oko Roundabout, is being executed in strict compliance with the approved engineering standards and specifications.
The contractor further disclosed that work is progressing according to schedule and expressed optimism that the project would be completed within the next six months, barring any unforeseen challenges.
