Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has paid glowing tribute to the late traditional ruler of Isuofia, Igwe Colonel Christopher Moghalu (Rtd), Isu II of Isuofia, describing him as a visionary monarch whose reign was marked by peace, unity and community development.
Governor Soludo made the remarks after attending the requiem Mass held in honour of the late monarch at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Isuofia, where family members, traditional rulers, community leaders, residents and well-wishers gathered to celebrate his life and legacy.
The Governor described the service as a moment of prayer, reflection and thanksgiving for a king who served his people with wisdom, dignity and selflessness.
Reflecting on Igbo tradition, Governor Soludo said a traditional ruler does not truly die but joins the ancestors, living on through the enduring values and positive impact he leaves behind.
He noted that although the late monarch was no longer physically present, his contributions to the unity, peace and progress of Isuofia would remain a lasting source of inspiration.
Governor Soludo praised the late Igwe Moghalu for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people, noting that his leadership extended beyond the community and made significant contributions to the development of Anambra State.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of the monarch’s soul and urged the people of Isuofia to preserve the ideals of peace, unity and community development that defined his reign, describing them as the greatest tribute to his enduring legacy.
