The Federal Government, in collaboration with the Anambra State Government, is set to host the first mega Made-in-Nigeria Trade Fair in Awka from December 2 to 5, 2026.

The event, tagged “Christmas Market,” will take place at Solution Fun City, Awka, as part of efforts to promote locally manufactured goods, strengthen businesses and showcase Nigerian products to the global market.

The Secretary to the Anambra State Government, Mrs Chiamaka Nnake, disclosed this when she received a delegation from the Made-in-Nigeria Project Office, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, at the Light House, Awka.

Nnake said the initiative aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s commitment to promoting locally made products and supporting indigenous businesses.

She explained that the fair would provide an avenue to showcase Made-in-Anambra products to buyers and consumers while sustaining economic activities during the yuletide.

The National Coordinator and Executive Director of the Made-in-Nigeria Project Office, Mr George Nwachukwu, said Governor Soludo would be formally appointed Nigeria’s Made-in-Nigeria Brand Ambassador by the Federal Government during the event.

According to him, the trade fair is part of a nationwide programme designed to promote Nigerian-made goods, with Abia State scheduled to host an edition in September, followed by Anambra in December.

Nwachukwu stressed that the event would focus exclusively on Nigerian products, with imported goods excluded from the exhibition.

Meanwhile, the Anambra State Commissioner for Commerce, Mr Nonso Ebonwu, urged manufacturers, entrepreneurs and small and medium-scale enterprises across the state to take advantage of the platform to showcase their products and expand their markets.

The delegation also inspected Solution Fun City, the proposed venue for the four-day trade fair.
