City Transit Inn (CTI), the hospitality arm of ABC Transport Plc, is set to expand its operations to Aba, Abia State, following approval from the Abia State Government for the development of a new hotel.

The planned facility forms part of CTI’s broader expansion strategy aimed at establishing a stronger presence in major commercial centres across Nigeria while providing travellers and business visitors with affordable, safe and quality accommodation.

The Aba hotel is expected to feature air-conditioned rooms with private bathrooms, steady power supply, complimentary internet access and other essential hospitality services.

The company said the expansion into Aba was informed by the city’s growing commercial activities and its strategic importance as one of the major business centres in the South-East.

According to the company, improvements in infrastructure, including road connectivity and power supply, have further strengthened Aba’s attractiveness for investment and hospitality development.

The new facility is expected to serve business travellers, visitors and residents while complementing ABC Transport’s existing transportation and logistics operations in the region.

CTI also identified Port Harcourt and Lagos as potential locations for future hotel developments as the company continues to expand its hospitality footprint.

The Aba project builds on the experience of City Transit Inn Abuja, a 113-room budget-friendly hotel owned and operated by ABC Transport since 2001.

The company said its experience in Abuja would provide a strong foundation for expanding the hospitality brand into other commercial cities.

The development is also part of ABC Transport’s wider diversification strategy, which seeks to strengthen its non-passenger businesses and create additional revenue streams beyond conventional passenger transportation.

The company’s operations currently span passenger transportation, haulage, cargo logistics, hospitality and driver training.

The proposed Aba hotel is therefore expected to strengthen the company’s presence in Abia while contributing to the city’s growing hospitality and commercial ecosystem.
