Senator Victor Umeh, representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, has celebrated Rev. Sr. Dr. Marie Andrea Ifeoma Nwanosike on the 25th anniversary of her consecration to the religious life.
Umeh joined family members, friends, clergy and other well-wishers at a Thanksgiving Mass held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Onitsha, to mark the Silver Jubilee of Sr. Andrea’s religious vocation.
In his remarks, Senator Umeh described the celebrant as an exemplary religious whose life has been defined by a commitment to education and service to God, the Catholic Church and humanity.
He congratulated Sr. Andrea on the milestone and prayed for renewed strength, anointing and grace for her to continue her service and make greater contributions to the Church and society.
The Senator also commended the Archbishop and Metropolitan of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, Most Rev. Valerian Maduka Okeke, represented by the Vicar General, Very Rev. Fr. Johnbosco Okafor, as well as the parish priest, parishioners, clergy, religious, family and friends for their support towards the successful celebration.
Umeh particularly praised the mother of the celebrant and Director of the Catholic Women Organisation of the Onitsha Archdiocese, Dame Dr. Ngozi Nwanosike, for her commitment to the Catholic women and for supporting her daughter’s vocation to the service of God and humanity.
He also recalled the late father of the celebrant, Sir Andrew Nwanosike, a former State Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Anambra State, describing him as a reliable ally during their years of service in the party.
The Silver Jubilee celebration brought together members of the Catholic community, family, friends and well-wishers to honour Sr. Andrea Nwanosike’s 25 years of consecrated service.
