A brazen phone thief in Kano met his unexpected fate on Sunday night when a speeding car intervened, leaving him sprawled on the notorious Zoo Road.
The revelation comes directly from Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Kano State Police Command, who shared the gripping incident on his Facebook page.
As per Kiyawa, the would-be robber had brandished a cutlass, terrorizing a lady for her phone before attempting a swift escape.
However, his plans were abruptly halted as a passing vehicle collided with him during his desperate getaway.
In a twist of fate, the suspect’s escape was cut short when the vehicle struck him down, noted the PPRO, emphasizing the unexpected turn of events.
The daring encounter prompted a call to the police, who swiftly responded to transport the now unconscious thief to the hospital.
This incident sheds light on the pervasive issue of phone snatching in Kano, particularly under the cover of night, perpetrated by the notorious ‘Yan Daba’ thugs, as reported by Leadership.
